Report design and brand development for Keartland & Co.

Keartland & Co is an impact strategy and advisory consultancy working with business leaders who are serious about scaling their positive impact.

We began working together on the design of their first impact report, and we are now four reports, a brand refresh, and a full suite of templates in.

The approach

The process began with a discovery workshop to understand Keartland & Co's brand context, the audiences for the report, and their specific goals for each publication.

I used these insights to develop a visual style for the report that felt aligned with Keartland & Co's existing visual identity; whilst also bringing in more vibrance and boldness. After a process of iteration and refinement, a style emerged that fit, which then became the foundation for every report that followed.

Each subsequent report had that foundation, but with unique layouts and visual elements developed to distinguish it. This kept the suite cohesive while ensuring nothing felt templated.

The collaborative dynamic with founder Hannah throughout this work has been a strength of the relationship. She challenges what doesn't feel right, and pushes the work further. The goal is not to get it right first time, but to arrive at something excellent together.

The brand refresh

By 2025, the visual identity that had been quietly evolving through the reports was ready to be formalised. Through a brand refresh, I updated their font system, extended their visual elements, and produced a comprehensive set of brand guidelines — formalising what had been built over the years of design work together.

Social media templates and a PowerPoint template followed, giving Keartland & Co the tools to maintain a polished, consistent presence across every touchpoint, including when working with external partners.
